Chorlton Extension – 1930s Semi-Detached – Manchester

Giving a Semi-Detached Family Home in Chorlton a Bright New Extension

Chorlton Extension. Pride Rd was tasked with revitalising a 1930s semi-detached in Chorlton, providing the owners with more space and encouraging more natural light to pour into their family home.

After talking through the various options, it was decided we could relocate the kitchen to the middle of the house, allowing us to open up the property with a long extension that provided a vibrant and flexible space for the whole family to enjoy.

The 2.5-metre extension features a  mono-pitch roof and overhang with lighting. Velux roof lights and high-level triangular windows have been integrated to maximise the amount of light, while an oak-clad frame suggests more contemporary styling. By adding bi-fold doors to the extension, we’ve also created a great natural flow.

Our workshops cost from £300 and our initial consultations are free! Get in touch if you’d like to know more or make a booking.

Estimated Cost £40,000

“Lisa was the Architect who designed the extension to our House. It’s a 1930’s semi with limited architectural features and had a small kitchen with no sunlight at the rear of the property. Lisa’s imagination and enthusiasm was instrumental in opening our minds to what could be achieved and with her help we now have an amazing, light and airy family room at the back of the house, a kitchen in the middle of the house (which we were struggling to imagine, but now absolutely love), and a small but perfectly formed downstairs loo.”
