Dormer – a window that projects vertically from a sloping roof
DPC – damp proof-course- prevents moisture from getting into interior spaces
DPM – damp-proof membrane- a sheet of material used to make a structure damp-proof
Draftsman – a person who makes mechanical drawings, or who sketches, plans or designs
Dropped kerb – a small ramp built into the kurb of a pavement that allows vehicles to get on and off the pavement easier
Dual pitch – a gable roof that features two slopes that meet at a central line and extend from one end to another to cover an entire structure
Duplex – a house that has two living areas attached to each other
Dwelling – a place of residence, such as a house
