We’re building our brand to greater heights…

24/07/2017, by Lisa Raynes, in Liverpool Blog | Main Blog | Manchester Blog

A good idea never stops growing. Our architects love to keep pushing themselves, and stride up to new ways of thinking. Your property, after all, is built on successive layers… We take the same approach to our team, which keeps getting bigger and better with age!

Hence, as the summer sun wavers in the sky, our activities have been hotting up too – here are the highpoints from Pride Road these last few weeks…

Welcome Catherine, our new Liverpool leader!

It’s no secret that we rely on the skills and creativity of female architects in the UK, who may be undervalued elsewhere. Happily, we can say that our family has a new member: Catherine Traynor, an award-winning, RIBA-chartered specialist.

After passing our in-house training with flying colours, she’s taking over our South Liverpool branch.

Riding the BBC airwaves

Our newest colleague has proven herself in other ways too – on the 7thof July, she was in the DJ booth with Roger Phillips, a host of BBC Radio Merseyside.

Promoting her ‘Ask an Architect’ sessions – where, over June and this month, she’s been giving free drop-in talks around the city – she emphasised how many people aren’t sure what an architect can pull off. Until they make contact, that is.

Lisa’s got married!

This weekend, the sound of wedding bells hit the air: our Founder, Lisa Raynes, married her beloved partner Iain.

Let’s take a chance to wish them both all the best for the years ahead. Lisa and Iain haven’t asked for wedding gifts, though. In place of a whisk or an egg timer, they’d be grateful for donations to Mustard Tree, their favourite charity.

Book a sit-down with Magda

Over the past few weeks, Magda has been treating Chorlton residents to one-on-one meetings at Barbakan deli. The turnout was fantastic, and many people have asked if they can arrange workshops to explore their options further.

One chat was especially striking: a lady, post-extension, was left with a structural beam in her garden, as opposed to keeping her home safe and stable! A scary thought indeed, but a stark reminder of how important it is to run your plans past an architect.

Want a taste of what a workshop might entail? See how Magda helped Sonya and Daren, in South Manchester, create more space in their home. She can do the same for you on select dates in July – the 25th, 26th and 27th are her last free slots before she jets off on holiday!
