Very often we take on jobs where people are in love with the exterior of their home but feel the interior is in dire need of bringing up to date. For this 1920s semi detached in Whalley Range, Manchester, we had to tackle a property in just such a position.
The first job was to look at the bathroom, which had been built at the back of the property. It was blocking all views to the garden. Like the rest of the house, this was a sign that the building hadn’t been touched in decades.
We moved bathroom internally. It allowed access to the cellar, and the kitchen and dining room were reconnected with the garden. Upstairs, the WC was reinstalled in the bathroom, which meant the remaining space could contribute to a much bigger bedroom.
Pride Rd Manchester took a beautiful period home and, being very careful to retain its existing detail, created something that was more befitting modern living. The contemporary offered lots of natural light and functional family space.
We recommended Pride Road to so many friends!
