So, here’s my story..

I’ve worked in both small and large practices, delving into a range of projects from regeneration  developments for developers to residential extensions for home-owners.

I found that working with people who wanted to develop their homes was the most fulfilling; watching ideas on a sheet of paper come to reality which made a real impact on people’s day to day lives. Here’s an example of some of the feedback I received from clients which really made my day,  we were very pleased with the overall design and appreciate you pushing us beyond our original thinking. Your continued humour and professionalism made the whole process a very pleasant experience’.

So, I knew what I wanted to do but I wanted to do it my way. I wanted to be close to home and needed a balance in my life, and driven by my interest in community building, wanted to make a positive difference to others.

After taking some time out, and even exploring roles in public service, delving into some voluntary work around mental health and picking up some new skills in sewing and gardening, I knew I needed to seek a different path to achieve what I wanted.

A google search of ‘freelance Architect ‘ led me to Pride Road. The more I read, the more I became intrigued. I did think about starting my own practice prior to that point,  but what struck me about Pride Road is the efficient business model and support network that I could benefit from.

The next day I spoke to Lisa and 9 months later, Pride Road Sutton and Kingston was born!
