This video comes from a concept design workshop, in which I explain why, using my kitchen as a bad example, you shouldn’t put a sink under a window.

This is my kitchen. It is from a pre-extended 1930s semi-detached house, so we inherited the space. It is light and spacious, but it is flawed because the sink is under the window. The sink requires a certain amount of splashback before the windowsill, so the windows are high up, massively limiting the visibility of the garden, so I can’t see the lawn or my kids playing outside. If I were to redesign this room, I would turn the kitchen around so I could drop the windows to the floor to get more visibility.
