we’ve spent a very interesting couple of hours going through a number of ideas and between us we’ve come up with something that we think will work. We’ve explored looking at some materials to get a sense of what the finish would be, and some to-scale drawings as well which really helped to give a sense of how this would look in reality. It’s the first time we’ve dealt with an architect, we’ve never had a project were we’ve dealt with an architect before, and it’s been well worth the time and the expense of doing it. I would encourage anybody else to do it if they’ve got the similar challenge of wanting to do something but not really clear about what the solutions might be in practice and how they would look.

Our client contacted Pride Road about his Edwardian 7 bed semi detached which had a 1990s garage extension. He felt that the garage was unattractive and didn’t add anything to the beauty of the striking property. Alastair wanted an aspirational as well as a functional solution to his garage.
We did a Concept Design Workshop with Alastair where we looked at several different layout options and then proceeded to sketch out some different solutions for the elevations. Our design ideas included a vertical timber clad garage with attractive feature lighting.

It’s always great to work with a client who wants to achieve something aspirational that gives the ‘wow’ factor to their home. Alistair wanted something that was functional but also looked great and solved problems of security and privacy at the same time. After exploring some different materials to clad the external face of the garage we drew up some sketch designs for a timber clad garage with feature lighting.
