Pride Road clients Emma and Sam had struggled for a long time in Bollington trying to find a family home. It seemed there was an abundance of 2-bed terraces or off-the-shelf new builds, none of which were suitable for them. Stumbling on this house, all they could see was potential! Before renovating, the house was very dated and needed modernising throughout. The living space was dark and cramped and Emma and Sam were keen to open up at the back to see the view of White Nancy, Bollington’s Landmark.
With so many ideas and so much potential, they contacted Lisa at Pride Road to check if what they wanted would work. Offering a bespoke architect service that works around the client, it was important to Lisa to get to the heart of their project, with Emma and Sam being part of the four-stage process from the outset.
They undertook the renovation in 2 stages – firstly, a single storey extension to the rear and secondly, a 2 story extension to the side.
Now it’s their ideal family home, maximising the fabulous views to the rear with a Juliette Balcony and large glass sliding doors. Opening veluxs and plate glass sliding windows allow fresh air to ventilate the open plan kitchen diner – the hub of the house. Emma and Sam now have a fabulous family home, it’s exactly what they wanted, designed for them and their future needs that can accommodate growing kids, sulky teenagers, empty nesters, and older age.
