Victorian Villa period property extension in Stretford

The house is a grand victorian villa over 4 floors in Urmston, with a tricky level change to the back garden. The kitchen was tucked away in the middle of the house, so it didn’t get much light and you couldn’t see the garden. The house was a beautiful character property, and our clients didn’t want to remove any of the original period features.

After looking at loads of options, including a separate basement flat, our solution was an enormous kitchen extension to the side with a large high level rear patio, before the descent into the garden. This means that the basement under the rear lounge bay has access to the garden, and more crucially light-so it can be used properly. The rear bay to the lounge was turned into a juliette balcony, so that could enjoy the garden too!

I’m sooo jealous of my clients!!!! I would love to live in a house like this!
