If you’re thinking about extending, renovating or reconfiguring your home, our new Pride Road Architects Home Extension Magazine is for you.

The second edition of Your Home, Reimagined is now dropping through letterboxes across Chorlton, Didsbury, Sale and Wilmslow. We’ve created it to answer some of the questions homeowners ask us every day and to make the process of improving your home feel a little less daunting.

And if you don’t live in one of the areas receiving a printed copy, you can read the whole magazine online.

What’s inside?

Extending your home involves a lot more than deciding how big your new kitchen should be. There’s Planning Permission, Permitted Development, Building Regulations, budgets, builders and a whole new vocabulary to get your head around.

So this year’s magazine brings together practical advice, explanations and inspiration from the work we do with homeowners every day. Inside you’ll find guidance on Planning Permission, Permitted Development and Building Regulations, answers to some of our most frequently asked home-extension questions, and our Home Extension Jargon Buster, which explains construction terminology in plain English.

Take a look inside a real home extension

One of our favourite features is a case study of a period home in Stretford, designed by Magda.

The homeowners wanted a generous kitchen and entertaining area that connected properly with their garden, but they didn’t want to lose the character of their traditional home.

The finished extension combines a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with rooflights, bifold doors, exposed steel and brickwork. The original stained-glass panel was even repositioned and incorporated into the new space.

One of the cleverest decisions was lowering the extension floor to meet the garden. It removed the step at the patio doors, increased the ceiling height and helped create a much stronger connection between inside and out.

Celebrating 10 years of Pride Road

This edition is also a special one for us because Pride Road Architects is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

When we started Pride Road in 2016, we wanted to make residential architecture more approachable and help homeowners navigate what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process.

Ten years later, we’re still doing exactly that – helping families rethink traditional homes and create spaces that work better for real life.

Have you spotted one?

If you’re in Chorlton, Didsbury, Sale or Wilmslow, keep an eye on your letterbox. And if you’ve already received a copy, we’d love to know what you think.
